The story of Francesca Starnotti began with her grandfather Marco in 1882, when he began exporting fresh truffles from San Miniato to the nearby city of Florence, which ultimately created the Starnotti business that has been growing ever since. Francesca, with the invaluable help of her husband Valter, not only became a pioneer of truffle hunting but also in cultivation and, at the same time, a great entrepreneur who organized her farm by putting the focus on her beloved truffle hunters and creating the internationally prominent company all Tuscany knows today.
