I was born in Florence in 1962 and after my school degrees, my first approach to the World of Wine was the participation in the Professional Sommelier Course in Florence, where I gained a holistic knowledge of this unique Product.
After my certificate of Italian Sommelier AIS I have been working as a publisher at Demomedia writing book guides on wines. My background is in Wine Tasting, as well as Food & Wine Journalism. My extensive knowledge of Wines also comes from my travels all around Italy, thus including Chianti and Tuscany.
Thanks to my experience, I have been linked with a large network of wineries, from the worldwide known key players to the small family-owned Farms that are usually away from standard Tourism Routes, the ones that usually calls "Boutique Wineries".
Ever since, I felt that my aim is to spread the Wine Culture among Wine Lovers coming from all over the world, and this is how the Florence Wine Academy was born, in order to host all those that appreciate Italian Wine and are willing to learn more about it.
Italy is a fantastic Country to Visit, with one-of-a-kind Traditions, Historical Places to See, and unique Products. It is a pleasure for me to play my part in helping visitors enjoy their Trip to Italy by getting to know more about its Culture.
